Jenny Hiou

Master of Arts in Counselling

Clinical Member and Registered Counsellor (SAC)

I believe that everyone has a unique story, and sometimes, we just need a safe space where we can process our thoughts to deal with difficult seasons in our lives.

As a Christian counsellor, my faith deeply shapes my personhood, values, and the compassion I bring to my work. While my worldview is informed by these beliefs, I am dedicated to working with clients from all backgrounds and beliefs. My goal is to meet you where you are and journey with you through your challenges. I adopt a person-centred approach in counselling, using a combination of approaches including Narrative and Psychodynamic theories. In all, I aim to help clients understand their struggles and find the resources to address their issues.

I have experienced work with clients from different backgrounds, who face anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship, marriage or parenting issues.

My path to counselling was shaped by a broad range of life experiences. I started out with several years in the corporate world before dedicating 16 years to being a stay-at-home mother—a role that gave me a profound, first-hand understanding of the joys and challenges of family life. During this time, I also served for more than 20 years in the Children Ministry.
